Delta Corporate Services wanted to have employees attend workshops on various business writing skills and have the visuals and other materials from the workshop available so employees could go through them after the workshop.
They wanted a workshop that would

  1. train employees in a variety of business writing skills
  2. use visuals and other materials that would be available to trainees after the workshop
  3. use training and practice aids that were self-guiding so employees could use them without the trainer after the workshop

The Business Writing Center developed a series of workshops that

  1. trained employees in the business writing skills of interest to groups of trainees who wanted to attend
  2. used the Internet as the training medium so participants followed the workshop on their own workstations as the trainer explained the skills
  3. took advantage of the Internet training medium to include interactive, hands-on training and practice that complemented the trainer's presentation
  4. allowed trainees to go back through the training materials, read the online explanations, and complete the interactive exercises at their leisure for an indefinite period of time after the workshop
